‘Behind the Glasses’ grabs award at Beloit filmfest

The Beloit International Film Festival in the US has awarded Iranian movie ‘Behind the Glasses’. 

Directed by Mahdi Iravani, the film grabbed the Power of the Film Award at the 2021 edition of the event.

The award is dedicated to the best film among all the received works, including short, feature, documentary films, which have powerful impact on the audience in terms of structure.

‘Behind the Glasses’ was also hailed by the critics and judges of the American festival.

Written by Pegah Emami, the film revolves around a window cleaner dissatisfied with his work who encounters an incident on a dull work day.

The BIFF is a ten-day tribute to the power of film and the excitement of independent film from around the world, hosting more than 100 films, and meeting scores of filmmakers from the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

The 2021 edition of the event was held on February 19-28.
